TOPIC: How to create Certification Paths that won't expire [SOLVED]

I was reading another question in the forum regarding setting up payment, but I'm still struggling with the model for this.

If I create a course, how do students purchase it? If I create a certification path containing the course, then do I have to use a different extension, such as j2store, to handle the certification path as a "product"?

I'm still wrestling with which LMS to implement for my client. Both will need some adaptation, but you're response to questions has been quick and helpful. Thanks for that.

The system has a payment processing structure built into it.
You create the certification path, which contains a course or more, which each contain a lesson or more which contain the questions. It's a heirarchial stricture.
In the front end, you create a menu item to the Purchase Certification Paths menu View.
There are two menu items for this to choose from.
You can show ALL the valid CPs or you can select which CPs to show.
When the users view this menu in the front end, the will see the purchase link.
If you have a payment plugin installed then you will give them the option to select the payment method too. Eg: Paypal, CreditCard etc.

What is the best method for not having an end publishing date on a specific certification path?

We want to set up some basic free courses that would not have an expiration.

just set the end date as 2020 or something like that.
