TOPIC: Coupon / Discount Codes

I think it would be very helpful if we could create discount/coupon codes that students could use during checkout for a course/certificate path.

Akeeba's subscription extension is superb!!!! There's only the question of whether you could integrate it with your selling of courses but as I recall you can establish an ACL based on Roles that could serve your interestsand then assign users to Joomla groups based on subscriptions. I definitely know you can do that with Akeeba Subscriptions.

I will have to check with Rob and see if Akeeba Subscriptions can be integrated. I already use Akeeba Backup and AdminTools and love them. I am currently integrating JomSocial to LMS King, so that adds another level of complexity when integrating an alternative payment platform/shopping cart, but at least it's not a tough one. ... Thanks for the tip, hopefully there will an 'easy' solution soon.

One of our next tasks is the integration with other cart systems.
The reason this was left until last is because the LMS system has it's own cart.
We saw no point in having it integrate with other carts.
But we've now opened our eyes and are going to do it
Now we just need to investigate HOW to do it... but it's now on our list.

Hikashop has a great following for Joomla 3. We use it for our store and would love to integrate with King LMS.

In the mean time it would be great to have the ability to have coupons in the King LMS cart system. We can't migrate over to this system without it.

We've already added functionality and crated a free plugin to use to integrate the LMS with 3rd party systems like akeeba and eShops.
Adding a PromoCode feature sounds interesting though.
If we get a few more sales this week, I'll invest the income back into further development and features.
Currently, we are reinvesting ALL income from sales back into the components further development.

We have today started working on this new feature.

OK, all the above coding has been completed for the admin.
Now is the time to tell me how you want it to work in the front end.
Currently I'm just planning to add an input field below the buy button where you can enter your promo code.

It would be better to have it entered during the checkout process rather then at the product buy point.

In the above screenshot you have restrict to product, lic and groups. Are these mandatory or can it be unrestricted? Also I am assuming that the restrict to products is a 1 to many relationship, not limited to a single product.

This isn't a shopping cart.
From the Purchase page, the user selects the payment method EG:Paypal or credit card.
Ad the same time they can enter their promo code and apply it, the prices on the page will update, then when they click Pay, they go straight to the payment system. It's a single step checkout system. better conversion rate.

Development has been completed.
Version 3.2.1.0
I have added the coupon system and added Orders page in the stats tab so that you can lookup your earnings.
I am trying to determine how to release the new version with the database changes so that it will auto upgrade and add the tables at the same time.
Once I've determined this I'll release it. I am hoping for tomorrow.

ok I think I've figured out the problems.
I'll release the new version first thing on Monday.
It will have a new version of the ProfileLMS component too.
